BALI GOA GAJAH TEMPLE

Bali Goa Gajah Temple will be our last stop for the tour today. Goa Gajah temple or famous with Elephan Cave temple is located in west side of countryside, Blah Batuh Sub district and Gianyar Regency. It is about 26 km from Denpasar city. This cave is built at crevasse edge from the federation of 2 rills that is named Pangkung River , where the irrigation is mixed with flow of Petanu River. The federation area of two rivers is called Campuhan. It owns the magical energy of Rwabineda Concept or Balinese meaning is two different matters on this basic concept hence Goa Gajah Temple or Elephant Cave Temple is built among two rivers.

Goa Gajah is an ancient omission in the form of a cave with the high value of art one of the interesting place or temple to visit. We will see the Ancient omissions like ancient stone idol, douche, temple and others. It owns beautiful relief with a form of face turning around to the left side.

WHAT TO SEE AT GOA GAJAH TEMPLE

Goa Gajah temple is carved in a solid stone with the main figure of the carving is ‘BOMA’ which is a Barong face, accompanied with big clapping finger on each side. And the rest of the carving if we give more attention to look at the leaf, flower, and some horror figures can be noticed to the rest of the carving. And on the wall of the carving we can fine some holes that are considered to be used as meditation or sleeping quarters. And now those holes are used to place the offerings when they have a ceremony. Inside the cave, on the right end side can be found three ‘linggas’ that each of them dedicated to the three manifestations God in Bali, Brahma, Wisnu, Siwa. And on the left end side can be found Ganesha statue, belive it as the God of knowledge. There are other three stone carvings in the center of the wall in the cave one of them figuring head and face.

GOA GAJAH ENTRANCE FEE

Visiting Goa Temple also the same with other temple before we enter them, the sarong is provided after we pay the entrance ticket. And the entrance ticket it is about 20.000 Rupiah each person. Visiting Goa Gajah can be done easily compare then other temple like Gunung Kawi, Besakih and other because only short walk to the temple.
